My Story

Barbie & Ken Vintage Photos

Photography, video, and film have been always been passions of mine, "life the way I see it," ever since childhood.

I started making films with the wind-up Revere 8mm film camera my father purchased after returning from WWII. Then as a gift, I received my first camera the Brownie Box and my photography passion began.

My latest project has been photographing Vintage Barbie and Ken dolls in their original 1960's outfits. It all began in 2009 while wintering in Miami Beach, after spotting the book "50 Years of Barbie". When I saw the original Vintage Dolls and their 60's outfits a light went on. There was something about miniature photography that always fascinated me. I also had an interest in fashion and worked in the New York Garment Industry for many years. The vintage, quality, and detailed clothing of the 60's are amazing. I thought, if I could find these dolls and the outfits, which I did on Ebay, I knew they would be the ideal models and Miami Beach would be the perfect backdrop. It has the most beautiful beaches and coolest vintage hotels in the world. I started photographing and selling my work at the world-famous Antique and Collectibles Market in Miami. People loved them, and soon they were featured in galleries from New York to LA. I'm nostalgic for the 60s and the designs of that era... but then again, who isn't? My sense of humor, which is reflected in all my work, developed while growing up on Long Island (in case you aren't aware, that's where all the funny guys come from).

My art is fun, with no serious statement. It might make you smile, sometimes laugh, and hopefully, hit a nostalgic chord in you.
